Description

For grade levels 5-8

Cute and funcational! This lesson is based on learning about how ceramics have been used for centuries for various uses in society. In this case, the cup is a pencil holder. Encourage your students to find new functions for their work of art. Teacher can show examples of other ceramic vessels from the past and ask the students if they can identify the purpose of each piece based on its shape and decoration. This is a great way to get your art students thinking about why they make art and why they make certain decisions throughout the process of creating art.
