Students will learn to create and use templates as part of their design process. While this project features Native American themes it can easily be adapted to meet a variety of cross-curriculum objectives.

Instructions
Glazing Directions:
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 Bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft fan, apply 2 Coats of FN-009 Black to the tile.
- Cut out the various shapes and patterns.
- Place the paper cut out on the tile, brush some water under the paper, then press the paper into the glaze. Pat with a paper towel to remove excess water. Make sure to remove any gaps in the edges of the paper.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 1 coat of FN-001 White over the tile.
- When dry to touch, using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, brush heavily on the following colors in a random, patchy fashion: SC-6 Sunkissed, SC-11 Blue Yonder, SC-75 Orange-A-Peel, SC-74 Hot Tamale. Immediately, with a paper towel, pat the colors to blend them together.
- Don’t forget the placement of the paper designs, they will be hard to find after the final step.
- When dry to the touch, using the AC-213 Sponge on a Stick load the Sponge with SC-15 Tuxedo.Tap the SC-15 Tuxedo onto the ST-379 Totem Blanket Stamp then press the stamp gently onto the tile.
- Remove the paper. Allow to dry.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
