New to Mayco?

We offer many different product lines, each with unique performance properties. To assist new users in selecting an appropriate product, we have provided this overview. We also have many specialty glazes that can be used in combination with the following products to add visual interest and design.

Stroke & Coat^®

• Translucent with one coat; opacity with 2-3 coats.
• Gloss finish when fired; Clear glaze can be added for additional gloss or to seal ware.
• Use for all over coverage or in design.
• Apply to bisque or clay. (For use with clay, leave an area unglazed to allow for out gassing).
• Glaze fire to 06 to 6. Check color label for performance at higher temperatures.
• Certified AP non-toxic and Food Safe.

Foundations^®

• Available in gloss (Opaque), translucent (Sheer) or Matte finishes.
• Use for all over coverage or in design.
• Apply to bisque.
• Glaze fire to 06/05.
• Certified AP non-toxic and Food Safe.

Jungle Gems^™ & Crystalites^™

• Contains small pieces of glass that melt during the kiln fire, leaving splash of color. Fired finish will be textured. Palette features gloss and matte finishes.
• Apply to bisque.
• Glaze fire to 06/05. Can be fired to higher temperatures. Check color label for performance at higher temperatures.
• Certified AP non-toxic except for CG707 Woodland Fantasy and CG716 Pagoda Green, which are CL Health Caution.
• Not recommended for dinnerware due to surface characteristics.

Elements^™ and Elements^™ Chunkies

• Designed to simulate the look of mid-range and high fire glazes but in a low fire kiln oxidation firing.
• Apply to bisque.
• Glaze fire to 06/05. Can be fired to higher temperatures but will change in appearance.
• Check individual color label for AP non-toxic or CL health caution symbol.

Underglazes

• Use for all over coverage or design work.
• Apply to greenware or bisque.
• Fire to cone 04 when applied to greenware; cone 06/05 when applied to bisque.
• Clear glaze application is required to enhance color and seal surface.
• Certified AP non-toxic. Clear glaze when used on dinnerware.

Stoneware glazes

• Use alone or in combination.
• Apply to soft fired midrange clay body.
• Fire to cones4-6 but are stable at cone 10 when applied to high temperature clay bodies.
• Check individual color label for AP non-toxic or CL health caution.
