As artists, we are constantly looking for creative and innovative techniques in our design. Achieving specific effects sometimes requires non-traditional studio tools and materials including horse hair, feathers, string, sponges, liquid dish soap, raffia, eyelash yarn, shop towels and more.

Product Features:

Use a little liquid dish soap mixed with glaze to create bubble glazing.
You may have used a brush or watered down glaze, but our designers like to use blue shop towels to create a marbled effect.
Use raffia to create flowers, water backgrounds, and stripes.
Eyelash yarn makes a great texture as an accent or in a large area.
Various types and designs of netting, lace, or doilies for an interesting pattern
Mayco's Stoneware Washes are versatile in use and firing range. They can be used alone as a body stain or surface treatment or used over or under another glaze - ideal for image transfer techniques and line work.
Mayco's Raku glazes are designed to develop beautiful metallic lusters and crackle patterns when used in the raku firing.
Using horsehair and feathers in raku firing yields incredible marks that can't be created in any other type of firing.
