Instructions


  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-009 Black to front and back of Bisque.
  3. You may need to reduce or enlarge the pattern. Transfer pattern using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper and pencil.
  4. Outline with SA-003 White Accents: Owl Bodies, wings, tree, and leaves.
  5. Paint following: Tree with SC-25 Crackerjack Brown, Tree leaves with SC-27 Sour Apple
  6. Owl, front right: body and head SC-30 Blue Dawn, wings SC-23 Jack O’ Lantern.
  7. Owl, front left: body and head SC-45 My Blue Heaven, wings SC-70 Pink-A-Dot.
  8. Owl, rear: body and head SC-11 Blue Yonder, wings SC-51 Poo Bear.
  9. Owl faces: SC-1 Pink-A-Dot for the light pink scalloped area around main part of face (all three owls), SC-16 Cotton Tail for the white area of faces, SC-70 Pink-A-Dot for the pink accent line around face/eye area, SC-6 Sunkissed for the Brow area around eye and noses, SC-75 Orange-A-Peel for the beaks and around eye pupil, SC-15 Tuxedo for the eye pupil and accent lines around the brow portion. Paint a small dot of SC-16 Cotton Tail in each pupil. Paint small dots in each of the scalloped area (of SC-1 Pink-A-Boo) using SC-15 Tuxedo.
  10. All Owls: accent around head (which was painted the various blues) with SC-76 Cara-bein Blue, the lines around scalloped area, zig zag lines on front left owl, and feathers of front right owl (main body area) accent with SC-15 Tuxedo.
  11. Front right owl, wings accents will be with SC-81 Cinnamon Stix small lines, SC-76 Cara-bein Blue for the round circles, with SC-30 Blue Dawn and SC-6 Sunkissed and SC-87 Ruby Slippers (making the circles inside smaller as you go).
  12. Front left owl, wing accents SC-28 Blue Isle, with SC-45 My Blue Heaven and SC-15 Tuxedo (making each circle smaller as you go) The zig zag portion on main body is with SC-76 Cara-bein Blue (as stated in #10) alternating with SC-28 Blue Isle for light blue zig zag with dots of SC-23 Jack O’ Lantern.
  13. Rear Owl wing accents are with SC-15 Tuxedo (small black dots) and SC-73 Candy Apple Red with smaller dots of SC-70 Pink-A-Dot inside.
  14. The circle flowers around the tree are painted various colors used in the owls and also adding SC-24 Dandelion and SC-53 Purple Haze. Some of the flowers have black dots in the center (SC-15 Tuxedo) and some have white SC-16 Cotton Tail. Paint them as you please incorporating all colors interspersing them in a pleasing manner.
  15. Add tiny dots of SC-24 Dandelion for the “stars” around the tree and owls.
  16. Go back and ensure none of the SA-003 White Accent outlining was covered inadvertently. If so, either scrape the paint of carefully or go over your outlining again with the SA-003 White Accent. Allow to dry.
  17. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05/06.
