Instructions

  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Place some S-2101 Crystal Clear Brushing Glaze into a small cup and add a little bit of water to slightly dilute it (about 3 parts glaze and 1 part water).  It should be the consistency of a coffee cream.  Pour this into the vase and roll around to completely coat the interior of the vase.  Drain out the excess glaze and keep vase inverted until it has lost its shine. Wipe off any glaze from the outside using a damp sponge.
  3. Wipe out the glaze in the neck of the vase. Allow to dry.
  4. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-032 Canton Jade to the outside of the vase; next apply 1 coat of SC-91 Seabreeze to the vase, then apply some SC-78 Lime Light to the right side of the vase. Allow to dry.
  5. With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace the pattern onto the vase.
  6. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply a couple of coats of SG-501 Sculpture Medium to the flat vase and the flower, it is not necessary to brush to a smooth finish.
  7. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply a coat of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the red vase.  For the second coat, brush some SC-74 Hot Tamale, to the vase, shade the left side with SC-71 Purple-licious, apply some SC-75 Orange-A-Peel to the right side and top edge, brush some SC-2 Melon-Choly to the center left of the vase.
  8. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply to the green flowers 1 coat of SC-78 Lime Light, for the second coat, apply SC-52 Toad-ily Green to the center section, towards the bottom apply SC-63 Popeye’s Favorite, and use SC-93 Honeydew List as a highlight.
  9. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply to the pink flower SC-2 Melon-Choly, apply SC-2 Melon-Choly with SC-16 Cotton Tail as a highlight, apply SC-74 Hot Tamale to deepen, and apply SC-71 Purple-licious as a shadow.
  10. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply to the yellow vase, SC-6 Sunkissed lightened with SC-16 Cottontail 1 coat, deepen sides and bottom with SC-94 Curry Around.  Highlight with SC-16 Cotton Tail.
  11. Shade the background as pictured with SC-11 Blue Yonder, deepen some areas with SC-10 Teal next Time, add in some SC-71 Purple-licious and SC-78 Lime Light.
  12. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of SC-78 Lime Light to the inside neck of the vase.
  13. Lightly outline the design with SG-401 Designer Liner. Allow to dry.
  14. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 05/06.
