Instructions

 

 

  1. Begin by using pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper trace the image onto the pizza stone.
  2. With a Banding Wheel, band the circular border with 3 coats of SW-128 Cordovan.
  3. Next outline your drawing with SG-401 Black Designer Liner.
  4. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, paint in the chicken’s body with SG-401 Designer Liner.
  5. Using the end of a CB-106 #6 Script Liner brush handle to make dots on the chickens bodies with SC-16 Cotton Tail and paint the beaks.
  6. Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, apply SC-740 Hot Tamale to both the Chickens combs and waddle.
  7. Now it is time to wax both Chickens to protect them from color contamination.
  8. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SW-104 Black Walnut to each tree, then 2 coats of SW-253 Green Opal.
  9. Refer to the pattern for the order to paint the hills.  The lower hill is 3 coats of SC-52 Toad-ily Green.  The following two hills apply 3 coats of SC-27 Sour Apple.  Then the two hills farthest to each side apply with 3 coats of SC-78 Lime Light. Continue by applying to the middle solo hill SC-77 Glow Worm.  Finally the two remaining hills apply SC-93 Honeydew List.
  10. The background is coats of SW- 252 Blue Opal and 2 coats of SW- 250 White Opal.  In desired one could not glaze the background at all leaving the raw bisque visible.
  11. With a damp sponge, wipe off any excess glaze off the foot of pizza stone.
  12. Place on a high-fired kiln washed kiln shelf.
  13. Do Not Stilt and make sure the pizza stone is not hanging over the kiln shelf.
  14. Fire to shelf cone 5/6.
