Instructions


  1. Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque.  Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
  2. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of FN-001 White to the top side of the plate.
  3. Cut out the monkey pattern and the letters.
  4. Position and trace the monkey pattern and the letters with a pencil.
  5. Cut out the eyes and centers of the ears and place on the plate using water to attach. Make sure the edges are secure, press with a paper towel to absorb any excess water.
  6. Using a CB-602 #2 Sot Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-75 Orange-A-Peel to the monkey slightly going over the traced lines.
  7. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-24 Dandelion to the letter "Y", SC-74 Hot Tamale to the letter "U" and SC-75 Orange-A-Peel to the letter "M", slightly going over the traced lines.
  8. Place the cut out  monkey pattern onto the painted area using water to attach, make sure the edges are secure, press with a paper towel to absorb any excess water. Repeat for the letters.
  9. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-76 Cara-bein Blue to the left side of the plate and SC-32 Bluebeard to the right blending the colors where they meet.
  10. Remove all the paper before the color dries.
  11. Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-24 Dandelion to the inner ears. SC-74 Hot Tamale to the mouth. SC-15 Tuxedo to the eyes and mouth.
  12. Using the end of a brush handle, apply dots of SC-16 Cotton Tail to all the letters and add a dot to the eyes.
  13. Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-019 Dark Blue to the back of the plate. Allow to dry
  14. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
