Incredible Tile Installation using Stroke & Coats

image03The students in the Hanley Ceramics class at Cleveland Charter High School in Reseda, CA, created Personal Legacy Tiles as part of a recent project. They reflected a time in their lives, which represented their culture, heritage, values and hopes for their future. This was done in the form of an architectural tile created with Stroke & Coat and installed on the walls in one of the school’s hallways.

The students were asked to create a list of ten things that are important to them – family, music, graduation, nature, college, sports, etc. Once they determined their items, they were to symbolically show the items on their list through a drawing. They were then required to use at least three symbols and their name to create an overlapping design that touched at least three edges of a 6” square tile. The results are wonderful!
