Looking for a fun, easy way to spruce up your next classroom project? Try Elements and Elements Chunkies, our textured, low-fire glazes that take your students’ work to the next level! Natural-looking and stunning, these glazes have a high-fired appearance that makes everything from handmade pots to animal molds seem a little more grown up!

Because of the incredible movement Elements has, no two pieces are going to be the same—making your students’ projects not only beautiful, but as unique and individual as they are. Pauline Rancourt, the store manager at Ohio Ceramics Supply, says that one of her favorite things about Elements is that it is both surprising and reliable.

“It’s always a surprise in the kiln,” she said, adding that the glaze is extremely low-maintenance. “You don’t have to change firing, you don’t have to change clay body. You get that high-fired look without having to worry!"

Elements glazes act just like other glazes, except that some colors are directional, and require more random strokes to get the full effect of the glaze. Pauline says she likes to layer Elements with Cascades, or add Stroke & Coat to really take advantage of the glaze’s fluidity.

Try your Elements glaze with your upcoming project—or pair them with some of Mayco’s cute animal molds for a creative and educational lesson plan! Elements Chunkies is especially good for people who love the effect of Crystal glazes—heating the glaze up will make the crystals “bloom” for a gorgeous contrast of color! If you like the Amaco’s Artist’s Choice glazes, you’ll be sure to love Elements!
