It is truly a special occasion when art educators from all around the world are able to come together and learn from each other, which is why Mayco was especially glad to be involved in this year’s National Art Education Association National Convention. Put on by the National Art Education Association, the convention took place from March 2-4 in New York City, and was held in the Hilton New York. This event is the largest of its kind that Mayco regularly attends; drawing almost 7,000 people for this year’s conference!

With three full floors of vendors, Mayco’s colorful booth received a lot of attention. The inspiration wall was the center of attention with over 40 tiles displaying unique and exciting ways to use Mayco products. Several sample items, such as the balloon animals, were on display to inspire art educators on a variety of projects that they could bring back to their own classrooms. Showcased products included Mayco Stoke & Coat, Crystal Glazes, Fundamentals, and Foundations glazes—it was great to have such positive feedback directly from art educators!

A “make and take” workshop was done on every day of the convention, which allowed for customers to see Mayco products in action. It was a fun and simple tile project that features underglazes and Designer Silkscreens. Every single one of the teachers who stopped by Mayco’s booth left with truly wonderful creations!

It’s always great to see our amazing old (and new!) customers in person—we love hearing how you enjoy the products, and we love talking about new and interesting ways to use them! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth, and a huge thank you to all of the new teachers who just got started on the Mayco product line! We are so excited to have you as a part of this big, creative family. We’ll see you next year in Seattle!
