Mayco's collection of Foundation Sheer glazes provide a soft, translucent finish that allows surface texture or designs to show through. Foundation Sheers will not compromise the integrity of brush strokes or the intricate detail use of Designer Liner, stamps, stencils or silkscreens. They’re great for handprints too! Create soft designs by doing prints in deep Stroke & Coat colors and apply a complementary colored Sheer on top. Using Foundations will eliminate the need for a clear glaze, saving precious time and budget dollars. But, if desired, Foundations are compatible with a clear glaze for co-firing. Value priced at one low economical price, you will find the Foundations Sheers are very cost efficient for the classroom. A one or two-ounce portion will provide full coverage on an 11" surface. You can mix them together to create your own color and they can be applied to greenware or leather hard clay (leave an area unglazed for outgassing as usual). So easy! The best way to apply Foundations Sheers is with a large Soft Fan brush that has been fully loaded with glaze. Let the glaze dry in between coats for best results.
