Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- With a pencil and AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper, trace on the tree pattern.
- Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, and CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 2 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo.
- Pour or splat the SG-501 Sculpting Medium between the branches. Using your finger, swirl the SG-501 Sculpting Medium into a spiral, try to stay off of the tree.
- Continue around the tree until all the background has spirals.
- Before the SG-501 Sculpting Medium is dry, use a sgraffito tool or bamboo skewer to remove the SG-501 Sculpting Medium from the tree and branches. Fill in any areas where needed with the SG-501 Sculpting Medium.
- Apply another coat of SC-15 Tuxedo to the tree.
- Start at the center of the spirals with the UG-46 Bright Yellow, swirl 1 coat then add UG-204 Orange to the UG-46 Bright Yellow as you work up the canvas to the left side, do one swirl with just the UG-204 Orange, then add UG-206 Fire Engine Red to the UG-204 Orange brush for some spirals.
- Working down the left side, add UG-87 Regal Purple to the UG-206 Fire Engine Red brush, then just the UG-87 Regal Purple.
- On the right side of the canvas, UG-46 Bright Yellow, is used and tinted with UG-21 Leaf Green, UG-97 Bright Blue is used, and tinted with the UG-21 Leaf Green, one swirl is UG-19 Electra Blue; 1 coat.
- Some of the Underglaze may overlap the branches, go over again with the SC-15 Tuxedo.
- With a damp sponge, remove any excess color product from the sides of the canvas.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2-3 coats of SC-15 Tuxedo. Allow to dry.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06/05.
