Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a CB-618 #8 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-105 Brick Red to the back of the bowl, and 2 coats of FN-001 White to the inside of the bowl area. Allow to dry.
- Using a CB-618 #8 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the rim of the bowl.
- Using a CB-618 #8 Soft Fan, apply 1 to 2 coats of SC-82 Tuscan Red to the rim, allowing some of the SC-74 Hot Tamale to show through. Allow to dry.
- Sketch on 3 apples and leaves or trace on pattern using AC-230 Clay Carbon Paper and a pencil.
- Using a CB-406 #6 Pointed Round, apply 2 coats of SC-74 Hot Tamale to the apples. Re-load with SC-74 Hot Tamale and side load in SC-81 Cinnamon Stix or SC-82 Tuscan Red and apply to the apples the direction they would grow, from the top to the bottom, blending as you paint.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Pointed Round, apply 2 coats of SC-79 It's Sage tipped in SC-84 Dee John to the leaves.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Pointed Round, side load in SC-52 Toad-ily Green and shade the edges of the leaves.
- Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner, add an accent stroke to the apples with SC-84 Dee John.
- Using a CB-110 #10/0 Liner loaded with SC-15 Tuxedo, outline and add detail to the apples and leaves, and add a stem.
- Using a CB-406 #6 Pointed Round, apply 1 slightly thinned coat of SC-83 Tip Taupe in a swirly pattern to the background, keeping the color darker near the design. Allow to dry.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
