Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-001 White to the center of both plates and to the outside of the bowls. Allow to dry.
- With a ruler and a pencil, mark 11 stripes on the larger plate about 1” apart and about ¾” apart on the small plate.
- Mark a stripe on the bowl about 2” down from the top rim.
- With the ½” masking tape, apply the tape to mask where the white stripes go and on the line of the bowl.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-001 White to the white stripes. Remove the masking tape before the last coat dries. Allow to dry.
- Now apply the masking tape on top of both edges of the white stripes to protect them.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-004 Red to the red stripes. Remove the masking tape before the last coat dries. Allow to dry.
- Punch out the stars with the paper punch. Wet the star in water and place in place on both plates and on the bowl. Blot with a paper towel to absorb the excess water.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-006 Blue to the center of the plates. Remove the paper stars before the last coat of glaze dries.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-006 Blue or FN-004 Red to the star area and inside the bowl. Remove the paper stars before the last coat of glaze dries.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 3 coats of FN-004 Red to the back of the plates.
Optional: Place bowl upside down on a banding wheel and mark a stripe below the star stripe area with a pencil. - Using a CB-106 Script Liner, apply a stripe of FN-006 Blue below the red stripe or a stripe of FN-004 Red below the red stripe. Allow to dry.
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
