Bisque: Vintage Truck Container
Vintage trucks are being seen in fall table displays, on pillow covers, wall art and more. We like taking that farmhouse style and turning it into an event for fall or Christmas. Host an event during which customers paint Mayco’s Vintage Truck Container (MB-1508) in a style of their choice – rustic, bright red, faded colors – and have them add a variety of decorative elements that you provide. Greenery, pumpkins, small bottle brush trees, holly, ornaments- all items you can get (generally on sale) through a local craft supplier.
Incorporate the look of weathered wood by using Mayco’s Wood Grain Mat to the sides and tailgate of the truck to pieces that will accompany the display. How fun would it be to have a wood grain pumpkin? Glaze a piece of bisque with SC-86 Old Lace or FN-014 Antique White as a base then add your design. Create the look of weathered pottery by applying color onto a detailed shape then wiping back the color. This antiquing process allows the color to stay in the detail creating a vintage look.
Include kitchenware items or serving pieces to your studio displays with color combinations such as turquoise and the natural tone of parchment. These are elegant and play well with fall and holiday designs. Wrap the handle of a pitcher or the base of a planter with jute. Add natural accents to finished pieces is a fun way to conjure up a traditional holiday season.
Seasonal Event Idea: Halloween Treat & Succulent Events
Bisque: Stretch Dog & Cat Containers
Create a Halloween themed event in your studio that features our Stretch Dog (MB-1507) and Stretch Cat (MB-1506) Containers. They’re the perfect size and shape for holding sweet treats or even succulents.
Our Bat Dog project would be the perfect project for a costume night! Host a family night or a Kids Night Out. Provide the bat pattern (which would also work on the Stretch Cat Container) and let painters choose their own colors. Who says Bat Dog costumes have to be black and gold? Painters can also create their own costume design for their pottery. They could even match their own costume. When they pick up their pieces, have them filled with Halloween treats and a coupon to use in your studio for a future event.
Adults will enjoy the simplicity of decorating one of these containers with one of our new Crystal Glazes. Fruit Punch (CG-989) offers a burst of color! Present the project on a walk-in basis or host an event during which you serve fall-inspired beverages. Have a collection of succulents, pebbles and other items for customers to use to fill their container after their piece has been fired.
