It’s All in the Details

Whether you’re planning a party or decorating a piece of pottery, details make a difference. Designer Liner gives you the control you need to create intricate designs with ease. This clay-based, highly pigmented underglaze does not contain frit, which helps your fine lines stay thin and clean.

Use Designer Liner for:

  • Outlining & Fine Lines
  • Writing
  • Drawing
  • Doodling
  • Detailing
  • Typography
  • Pointillism

Because of its broad firing range, Designer Liner can be used with a variety of glazes and even on fused glass.

  • Stroke & Coat
  • Elements
  • Foundations
  • Stoneware
  • Underglazes

Designer Liner comes with a metal writer tip and easy to squeeze bottle. Keep the pin that also comes with the product in the metal tip when you’re not using the bottle to keep the tip clear.

You can even use Designer Liner with a brush. Our Flower Power Cat and Sunflower Dog feature a bundle of colors in one project - some are applied with the metal tip and others with a brush. Either way, you get smooth flowing lines. Our Hot Rod Truck further shows the versatility of applying Designer Liner with a brush by using it over Foundations for a bold look.

Elements Glazes also work well with Designer Liner and allow the color and fine lines to stay true.

When applying Designer Liner through the metal tip, be sure to keep your lines thin so they will not crack or chip. If you want bolder lines or just want to keep your product line up simple, use a brush to apply the colors.

Designer Liner fires to a matte finish without clear glaze. It is best to dip or brush on clear glaze or go over your design with a translucent glaze such as Foundations Sheer or Stoneware Ice glazes.
