Creative Tools for Sweet Designs

Coming up with a design for your next project is easy when you use Creative Tools to guide the way. Our Designer Stencils, Stamps, Mats and Silkscreens can be used on their own or in combination with other tools to allowing for layering of techniques. Use them as an as an overall design as we did on our Stenciled Honeycomb Pitcher or as a design element as shown on our Butterfly Tray. Use them on the same piece to provide texture and detail like we did on our Butterfly Mug.
Use Foundations and Stroke & Coat together to create festive designs with vibrant colors. A 2" Mini Foam Roller is ideal for applying color over a Stencil. Hold the roller at the tip of the handle and gently roll color over the stencil alternating direction to allow color to get into the edges. You can use a foam roller or sponge-on-a-stick to apply color to a Stamp or Mat then press transfer the design onto your piece by gently pressing down on the back of stamp/mat. Designer Mats, Stamps and Stencils may also be used in wet clay to create texture. Applying a wash of glaze will allow these details to collect color in crevices which adds great impact!
The highly detailed designs on our Silkscreens provide a look that many painters could not create on their own. Add Silkscreen Medium (AC-310) to Stroke & Coat then rub over the screen.
