Diana Fayt & Sandra Pierantozzi

S_Pierantozzi_Ginko_PlatterPhiladelphia Clay artist/inventor Sandi Pierantozzi has a well-estabilshed career in the field but the addition of Designer Liner to her process opened some new doors for her surfaces.

……..”Designer Liner is a great new product from Mayco. In my current work I have been exploring slip trailing, and Designer Liner is a good, strong black that flows nicely from the bottle.

The best thing about Designer Liner is that it can go on greenware or bisque. This flexibility is so helpful in creating surface designs, as you can add more decoration after your piece is bisque fired. I highly recommend Designer Liner.”  Sandi Pierantozzi, Studio Potter, Philadelphia, PA.

diana_faytDiana Fayt, another one of my favorite clayers on earth. This San Francisco artist uses Mishima techniques along with Designer Liner for text and calligraphy on the surface. She is also a fan of Mayco Stoneware Glazes for her interiors.

………”I do love the designer liners. I recently took a calligraphy class and thought they'd be perfect for practicing my new skill on pots. (I call it clayigraphy). Also I LOVE using Mayco's stoneware glazes - some of my new favs are root beer, amber topaz, turquoise and walnut. Having them has encouraged me to work a little differently.”

If you are like me and live far from lovely San Fran, you can take an online course from Diana on Surface Design and other topics. http://www.dianafayt.com
