One of the most distinctive traits of Mayco Elements™ and Element Chunkies™ is that the glaze provides lush, organic, and earthy visual interest as a low fire glaze with the effect of a high fire glaze. Used as a stand alone or in combination with other Mayco products, such as Stoke & Coat, Designer Liner, Crystal Glazes and Pottery Cascades, Elements glazes add a striking layer of depth to your work. Best known for producing a dripping effect, this high performance glaze gives artists a wide variety of options in one product application because the glaze slides around differently depending on a number of factors such as placement in the kiln, type of bisque, number of coats, what it's layered with, and at what cone it is fired. Thus producing a stunning effect that is difficult to imitate with a brush a tool.
Designed to mature at cone 06/05, Elements can be fired at a higher temperature but will change in appearance. We recommend testing to determine color, surface characteristics and movement prior to use. Pottery Cascades are moving, flowing glazes commonly used under or over glazes to create reaction. Apply under, over or in-between as a flux with Elements or Elements Chunkies to create additional movement in the colors. If you're looking to experiment with a low fire glaze without sacrificing the high fire look, try Elements and Elements Chunkies for a crystal glaze-like finish!
