Instructions
- Begin with properly fired shelf cone 04 bisque. Moisten a clean sponge and wipe bisque to remove any dust.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2-3 coats of FN-001 White on the butterfly.
- Create and cut out a paper pattern of the white detail that is on the wings.
- Working with one wing at a time, brush wing with water. Place the paper cut-out in position, then finger press. Place a paper towel over the wing then press to remove excess water.
- Repeat for the other wing.
- Using a CB-604 #4 Soft Fan, apply 2 coats of SC-42 Butter Me Up on the entire butterfly.
- Remove the paper after the last coat of SC-42 Butter Me Up has lost its shine.
- Cut a small piece of cheesecloth to fit about an inch larger than the body of the butterfly.
- Wet the cheesecloth and squeeze out any excess water.
- Lay the cheesecloth over the body then brush some thinned SC-42 Butter Me Up over the cheesecloth. This coat will prevent the cheesecloth from moving. Allow to dry to the damp stage.
- Using a CB-106 #6 Script Liner, apply 1 coat of SC-14 Java Bean to the body. Pull off the cheesecloth as the SC-14 Java Bean loses its shine. Allow to dry
- Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
